Whether you are a tourest or a local, I think everyone should visit.  Not the best library to get your studying done but beautiful architecture.  The building itself and the paintings on the ceiling are breathtaking, especially during the holiday season.

best cafe to study in NYC

One of my favorite cafe's to relax and study in NYC... decent food and good coffee. They even have a library upstairs which makes it a great place to study with friends or even get some readings done.  The only downside is that their internet usage is limited to about 2 hours.
